Experience 7 years in entrepreneurship and general management with software companies serving diverse industries and geographic markets around the world By definition general management is awfully general So my challenge has been to refine my career search to focus on just the areas where there is the greatest fit After a significant amount of thinking about my strengths motivations goals and experience I have decided to target the following four industries Renewable Energy solar wind geothermal tidal etc I am familiar with the energy industry through having served it with software my whole career now I see it as an industry with the potential to change the world for the better Commercial Space Operations space industrialization exploration I have lived in the shadow of space exploration my entire life and it has always been a passion of mine With the growing number of companies participating I see opportunities to contribute without working for bureaucratic government organizations Nanotechnology I am specifically interested in nanotechnologies that support renewable energy carbon walled nanotubes that transmit electricity over vast distances with little attenuation for example and commercial space operations incredibly light strong materials that make reusable launch vehicles more practical for example Although I have no background in nanotech Rice is very strong in this area and should provide significant networking opportunities Web Software Internet portals applications etc I remain enamored of IT and its ability to change the lives of millions practically overnight Given my background this is probably the lowest risk search strategy but I am committed to pursuing the others with equal gusto Geographically I am targeting the USA Houston Austin San Diego or Silicon Valley Italy the UK or Switzerland I am open to the right opportunity that is based anywhere and I anticipate significant travel but these are my

afternoon by tying it in with other IMD course themes principled negotiation can be a great tool to help us make the world a better place Today is also Swiss National Day It was celebrated with a brilliant display of fireworks over the lake which I could see very well from my window Now that the official fireworks are over the private fireworks are going off with loud booms and occasional flashes in the distance I think I ll sleep with earplugs in tonight as the wild and crazy Swiss get their celebration on Posted by Bryan Hassin at 17 16 Email This BlogThis Share to Twitter Share to Facebook Share to Pinterest Labels imd negotiation Switzerland No comments Post a Comment Newer Post Older Post Home Subscribe to Post Comments Atom About Me Bryan Hassin Cleantech entrepreneur with global experience Rice Owl IMD alum and lover of both wine and sports View my complete profile Google Badge Twitter Blog Archive 2016 1 January 1 2015 28 December 3 November 1 October 2 September 5 August 1 July 1 June 4 May 1 April 3 March 2 February 3 January 2 2014 26 November 4 October 3 August 3 July 3 June 7 April 1 March 3 February 1 January 1 2013 32 December 2 November 3 October 3 September 2 August 1 July 1 June 2 May 2 April 1 March 2 February 2 January 11 2012 35 December 2 November 1 October 4 September 3 August 6 July 4 June 3 May 4 March 3 February 1 January 4 2011 47 December 5 November 4 October 3 August 5 July 2 June 4 May 8 April 2 March 5 February 7 January 2 2010 53 December 4 November 1 October 4 September 2 August 4 July 6 June

  • The Green Knight: Crisis Management
to work on especially in situations featuring high anxiety and low information This was a very good eye opening exercise In between the crises we have had a few chances to catch up with one another about our vacations It s kind of funny all the girls are showing off new clothes purchased over the break All the guys look pretty much the same Three of the guys were married in July One of the guys had a baby wild and crazy times Our next day will be spent on career strategy search followed by two and a half days of negotiation training Welcome back to school Posted by Bryan Hassin at 10 10 Email This BlogThis Share to Twitter Share to Facebook Share to Pinterest Labels crisis management imd 2 comments David said This is none of my business but if you had a real crisis in a real environment a you would know a bit more about your company b your company would have a crisis management plan which you would have read and so would your colleagues This should make a lot of your decisions simpler c reporters would not be able to burst in to your offices and if they did you d have security clear them out d look at the share price of companies that have this sort of incident Unless they are very small and only have one site you ll find share prices don t fall by 50 in an afternoon or anything like that Seriously if you read up any real corporate incident in any reasonably prepared company you d find it was very different I m sure you had fun but just pause to ask yourself what you really learned and how much research your trainers had actually done Tuesday July 29 2008 at 2 52 00 PM EDT Bryan Guido Hassin said David I agree with you that it wasn t realistic but then I don t think realism was the goal It is probably pretty hard to create an environment of serious crisis including all the background etc that you mentioned in just a few hours I believe the intent was to create an atmosphere of crisis so that post facto we could see how we reacted in such situations Then we spent most of the time learning how to react better in such situations and more importantly how to prevent them using tools such as the crisis management plan that you mentioned We also examined real cases of crises handled well and not so well to learn in a more realistic context Without putting us on the Exxon Valdez and punching a hole in the wall though the company that conducted the simulation did a pretty stand up job Tuesday July 29 2008 at 3 25 00 PM EDT Post a Comment Newer Post Older Post Home Subscribe to Post Comments Atom About Me Bryan Hassin Cleantech entrepreneur with global experience Rice Owl IMD alum and lover

  • The Green Knight: Barbaresco
Barolo Campe winery then tasted six wines beginning with the La Spinetta Barbera d Alba La Gallina 2006 unrated We then tasted the three single vineyard Barbarescos La Spinetta Barbaresco Starderi 2005 92 La Spinetta Barbaresco Valeirano 2005 unrated and La Spinetta Barbaresco Gallina 2005 94 The one from the Valeirano vineyard was my favorite as it was spicier than the other two which were lighter and showed wonderful finesse Our final red wine was the La Spinetta Barolo Campe 2004 95 one of the few La Spinetta wines without a rhino label Its label featured a lion instead because Barolo is the king of wines And wow what a king this was all hail We wrapped up with the La Spinetta Moscato d Asti Bricco Quaglia 2007 unrated which was a light refreshing way to finish Finally we met the La Spinetta guard puppy a border collie who chases tennis balls and nibbles on low hanging fruit i e helps out with the green harvest all day Adorable After a day of such great wines we didn t even go out to dinner We made it back to the villa early and I am heading to bed a super happy boy Pictures are in my facebook album Posted by Bryan Hassin at 16 09 Email This BlogThis Share to Twitter Share to Facebook Share to Pinterest Labels Barbaresco Barolo Italy Piemonte wine No comments Post a Comment Newer Post Older Post Home Subscribe to Post Comments Atom About Me Bryan Hassin Cleantech entrepreneur with global experience Rice Owl IMD alum and lover of both wine and sports View my complete profile Google Badge Twitter Blog Archive 2016 1 January 1 2015 28 December 3 November 1 October 2 September 5 August 1 July 1 June 4 May 1 April
